I suppose you don't have a backup GPS sitting around. Along a similar line, it'd be interesting to see if your computer and cable lets Garmin Express recognize another Garmin GPS. If so, then the issue is some computer-related one due to missing or corrupt drivers, etc. You are using the latest Garmin Express version, right?ĭo you have access to a second Windows PC? If so, see if Garmin Express sees the device. Could you run Garmin's POI Loader program and report if it sees the device? When I've seen this, it's with an odder or older device and is a Garmin Express problem. I've seen occasions when Garmin Express doesn't see a device while the Windows computer does. If the battery level drops to 0 or 1 bar after 5 minutes or so, then a new battery may be worth trying, especially if you want to keep the 765. Your 4/4 battery level is likely to rule out a battery issue but you could see just how long the GPS will run on battery alone. I'll look into replacing the battery.Ī few thoughts that may shed some light.or not. The battery indicator does show 4/4 segments, but it's certainly possible that the battery just doesn't hold enough of a charge. Thank you for the suggestions! Unfortunately, I had no success. In POI Loader, I get the following error message I've tried swapping USB cords, ports, and even updating GE to the most recent version. When I run Garmin Express, it shows the 765 as not connected. I opened a new Explorer window and both the 765 and the SD card are there and I can browse the directories of both. Previously, when I connected the 765 to my Win 10 machine, a new Explorer window would pop up for both the 765 and the SD card. Ran into some issues when updating POIs on my trusty nuvi 765.
